The cost of getting a licence depends on the Emirate. In Dubai this procedure is provided free of charge, in Sharjah and Fujairah it costs 50 AED in Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman — 110 AED, and in Abu Dhabi — 120 AED.

An important condition is that the licenses are issued only to adults, i.e. people over 18 years old. The process of issuing a fishing licence takes on average 3 days. The validity period is 1 year, with the possibility of further renewal. At the same time, tourists can obtain only a temporary permit with a validity period of 1 week.
After obtaining a license, please note that fishing is strictly prohibited within one kilometre of any military object as well as near the oil terminals and oil fields.
