Emaar Properties has gained the worldwide fame owing to the construction of the world's biggest shopping malls and other famous buildings, including the skyscrapers Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall.
Founded in 1997, now Emaar Properties is the largest construction company in the Arab world. It includes more than 60 subsidiaries that have already implemented many construction projects. Emaar Properties owns about 14 thousand buildings in Dubai. Some of them have already been put into service, and others are just being constructed.
The reliability of Emaar Properties is illustrated by the fact that among the shareholders there are the members of Dubai’s government. The headquarters of the company is located in DownTown Dubai, near the world-famous Burj Khalifa tower.
The main business line of the company is investing in the construction of premium class buildings in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Moreover, it has construction sites in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Pakistan, Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon, Canada and the United States.

As it was mentioned, the year of foundation of Emaar is 1997. Within a year, the company started one of the most ambitious projects not only in the UAE, but in the whole world. The projects comprise the downtown Burj Khalifa, which includes the highest building in the world Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa Boulevard, artificial lakes, lush parks and plenty of residential complexes.
In 1999 the construction of the residential area of Emirates Hills was started, and in 2000 the construction of Dubai Marina, one of the most beautiful and fashionable areas of Dubai, was launched. In the spring of 2001 the company started the construction of the shopping mall Gold and Diamond Park, and in 2002 it began creation of the luxurious villa community Arabian Ranches. In 2003 it was announced about the construction of the Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. The year 2008 was marked by opening the shopping centre Dubai Mall and the famous singing fountains.
The Emaar Properties’ nearby plans include construction of the world’s highest skyscraper, which will exceed even the height of the Burj Khalifa (828 m). According to the director of the construction company, this project is to be launched in 2020 in honour of the Dubai international exhibition EXPO 2020.
